Group online piano lessons

Learning to play the piano in a group format is a very effective method to start learning the piano.

There are several advantages to learning in a group format such as learning from your fellow students and benefiting from aural training and in-depth musical theory (where applicable).

Groups take place online via Zoom. There are between three to five individuals per group class.

Our online piano group lessons are suitable for beginner learners and those with a little bit of experience.

If you are intermediate or advanced, we would recommend doing an online one-to-one course instead.

Our remarkable piano teachers are extremely flexible and know how to adapt in order to design the most suitable piano course and help you improve in the right direction.

In every lesson, you will learn something new and hone your newly found piano playing skills.

He or she will help you learn the names of the notes properly, teach you how to play scales and beautiful small classical pieces. You will also learn how to build chords and even compose your music!

Sometimes where appropriate you will also learn the basics of improvisation as well as duet playing.

Course details

The Online Piano Institute invites adults from all walks of life to study the piano and improve their skills online via remote piano lessons. Whether you are an absolute beginner without any prior musical knowledge, an intermediate player or an advanced amateur pianist, you are welcome to join and improve your skills with highly qualified and experienced instructors.

Hands on the piano

Our piano lessons for adults take place weekly on a set day and time via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime or another provider of your choice. (We usually use Zoom. It is free, easy-to-use and we can record the lessons for you to re-study in the future.)

The lessons are provided for either 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and our online remote piano courses can be joined at any time during the year.

Please contact our manager Stefan at contact@onlinepianoinstitute.com to select the most convenient day and time for you. We will match you with the appropriate teacher depending upon your timezone and the style of music that you want to learn!

As all our piano lessons for adults are highly personalised and tailored to the needs and wishes of each, you are welcome to decide whether you would like to sit the ABRSM or Trinity graded examinations.

We totally understand that you play the piano for your pleasure and enjoyment so this decision is totally optional.

We do not follow a set syllabus but rather adapt to each of our students as everyone is different and requires special attention.

Courses run on a rolling monthly basis. If you want to stop your course, we do require a month’s notice.

You are most welcome to book an intro lesson prior to committing to a standard rolling monthly course with us.

You are also most welcome to book additional improvement or intensive lessons should you want to make faster progress or prepare for an examination or performance.

If you want to do longer weekly sessions such as 90 or 120 minutes per week, please do ask and we will do our best to arrange a course tailored to your requirements.

Without a doubt! A smartphone performs admirably. Although a larger screen, such as a tablet or laptop, is preferable, we have discovered that smartphone remote piano lessons work extremely well!

Definitely not. At Online Piano Institute, we firmly believe that there’s no age restriction to discover and delight in playing the piano just for your own enjoyment.

Yes, we do offer taster lessons if you want to try prior to committing to regular piano lessons.

To be honest, any standard internet connection is more than adequate these days. If there are any problems during a lesson, they will be resolved with extra time. (Depending on the schedule, this could be at the same or a different lesson.) To summarise, any standard internet connection will suffice!

Yes, we can most certainly do so. In fact lessons over the telephone work amazingly well!

Yes, you do not need to sign up for any premium services. We use Zoom, which is completely free. If you prefer, we can deliver the lessons via Skype, GoToMeeting, or another service of your choice.

No, because we will make up for lost time at a later date. In the event of a total connection failure, we can also continue any lesson over the phone, or simply reschedule the time that has been lost.

To reschedule an online lesson, we require 24 hours’ notice. When you enrol in a course, you will be assigned a time slot, and we require a calendar month’s notice to discontinue your lessons.

At Online Singing Institute, we understand how difficult it can be for some busy professionals to attend their piano lessons on a regular basis. We will gladly accommodate you, but please notify us prior to signing up as any special requests are subject to availability.

Yes, absolutely. We teach guitar, singing, bass guitar, violin, saxophone as well as the cello.
